David, Spa Director and Co-Owner

David
ZEN micro spa and salon is a concept that has been in development for the entirety of David’s career. He started cosmetology at the age of 17, the week after graduating high school. After acquiring his cosmetology license he was hired by Wavelengths Salon, at that time voted “Best Salon in Santa Fe” for 20 consecutive years. The incredible staff there took David under their collective wing, taught him true professionalism, and honed and refined his skill. David’s passion and love for the beauty industry was ignited then and there, and continues to burn like wild fire. David has worked in all aspects of the industry, including management, ownership, consulting, education (for three different major cosmetics companies), educational development and stage work. David holds cosmetology licenses in New Mexico and Colorado, and both cosmetology and master esthetics licenses in Virginia.

Andra, Master Stylist

Andra
Andra entered the world of cosmetology after graduating from Legends Institute in 2004. Up until June of 2010 she was employed by Trade Secret, where she was provided with an incredible amount of product knowledge and technical training. She is very excited to be part of the team at ZEN micro spa and salon, and is committed to excellent customer service and satisfaction. Andra firmly believes that the key to both lies in continuing education, and she takes every opportunity to increase her knowledge. Andra knows that all the staff at ZEN share her beliefs, and she feels this is an excellent chance to grow as a stylist.

Holly, Master Stylist

Holly
Holly is a recent arrival to the Lynchburg area, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the ZEN team. She is an extremely talented and creative individual with many years of experience in the beauty industry, and a very impressive resume. She is passionate about her work, and it shows in what she produces. Holly excels in creating customized cuts for both men and women, as well as styling hair for all of the special occasions in life. She also enjoys in creating natural looking color, and highlights unique to each individual’s requests. Holly absolutely loves the career she has chosen, and comes to work excited to see what each day brings.

Jamie, Nail Technician

Jamie
Meet Jamie, our Nail Technician. She specializes in spa manicures and pedicures, and enjoys providing her clients with the ultimate relaxation experience (the foot and leg massage are not to be believed). Jamie is passionate about her work, and it shows. When she’s not at ZEN, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, shopping, painting, and scrap booking. Sara, Associate Stylist

Sara
At the tender age of 22, Sara is the youngest member of the ZEN staff. She is already a tremendously creative and skilled stylist; this is clearly what she was born to do. A Lynchburg native, Sara particularly enjoys doing short haircuts, creative color, and bridal and special event hair. Sara’s enthusiasm and passion are visible through the styles she creates for every client.

Caroline, Certified Massage Therapist

Caroline
Caroline has been in the natural health and massage field since 1988 and understands the value of healthy living and the impact modern day food choices, poor exercise, poor posture and stress have on the body. She has worked with a variety of clients; massaging for stress reduction, for sinus relief, muscle stiffness to scoliosis pain relief. With the use of pure plant essential oils, hot stones and hot compresses, she can quickly reduce the muscular tension that cause pain and discomfort. She is also trained in manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology and raindrop therapy. A typical massage session includes a variety of massage techniques including gentle stretching, range of motion, acupressure, hot stones and myofascial work.

Teri, Esthetician, Nail and Waxing Technician

Teri believes that radiantly healthy, clearer, brighter skin is within reach for all of us, from our early teens through pregnancy, mid life, menopause and far beyond.

After graduating from The Salon Professional Academy in Colorado, Teri continued her education with extensive chemical peel training and innovative skin care therapies.

Teri’s aim is for you to look and feel better on the inside and out. A simple but consistent regimen will lead to beautiful skin.

Joel, Operations Manager and Co-Owner

Joel
Joel is not a spa industry veteran, but brings to the table decades of business management, ownership and marketing, in such far flung arenas as vintage Italian cars, real estate, theatre and music. He keeps the gears of ZEN micro spa and salon turning smoothly so that the creative staff can create!
